Japanese White Pine, Shohin Bonsai Tree, Pinus parvifolia (side view).
Acquired from John Hanby Bonsai Nursery in Yorkshireseveral years ago as a part-trained bonsai tree. It is created from a White Pine cutting grafted onto Japanese Black Pine rootstock. This little pine is ready for repotting and will probably be placed into a proper ceramic bonsai pot in spring. The pot it's in is a mica training pot and the moss on the soil surface is self-seeded. The soil is a free draining mix of potting compost, Japanese Akadama soil and grit.
Tree height: 7 inches tall.
